We are multidisciplined engineering consultants in the heart of the Texas Gulf Coast

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT’S DESK

At Chemic, we are optimistic about our future despite the current economic challenges.
We believe that our response to the economic downturn was a demonstration of our strength and belief that a return to robust engineering challenges would begin during the 4th quarter, 2009.

During the slow economic period, we re-invested in our organization by executing training which included the following:

  1. Skill enhancement of our design personnel in Bentley’s AutoPLANT for modeling and piping isometric generation and in PI Integrated System's FlexCAD IDS-ISO for development of piping isometric drawings.
  2. In-house workshops for STAAD Pro and STAAD Foundation for design and analysis of steel structures and foundations, respectively.
  3. Cross training of Total Station (surveying), which is a laser instrument used to measure distances and angles in a 3D format.
  4. Development of new and enhancement of existing engineering tools and libraries within each discipline and field work training consistent with our philosophy of “doing it right the first time”.

Our Sales and Marketing staff initiated new marketing strategies which are yielding new clients across more industries. With this development, we will be better able to withstand the next economic downturn. Implementation of new marketing analysis tools enables us to better track the progress of marketing initiatives.

We fully anticipate that our man-power requirements during the first quarter of 2010 will exceed the pre-recession period. Our web site is being used to recruit the “right people” for meeting the challenges of tomorrow.

Regards,
Howard M. Harper, P.E.
