safety first- Chemic EngineersChemic Engineers was founded in 1977 by Harvey Cappel and Jerry Hartenberger in Texas City, Texas. This two man organization provided mechanical engineering services to the petrochemical industry. The firm has since grown into a full service consulting firm serving not only the petrochemical industry, but power generation, chemical, natural gas, catalyst/metals processing, and refinery industries as well. Located off the beaten path in Galveston County, Chemic has been quietly serving large industrial clients such as Marathon, Valero, and Conoco Phillips, for more than 35 years. Chemic has had a long standing reputation of taking care of its employees and conducting business in what some would consider a manner consistent with “old school” family values.

Jerry Hartenberger’s daughter Jennifer Lawrence, President and son John, Vice President, carry on Chemic Engineers commitment of excellence to its client list of over 100 companies, small and large. “We are proud of the work we have done, and the contributions that we have made to the industry through engineering excellence and a “can do” attitude.” Says Jennifer Lawrence, President.

To reach a million safe man hours without a recordable incident or injury is not only an outstanding achievement for our employees, but also marks a significant milestone for Chemic Engineers” said Mrs. Lawrence, President. “It’s a credit to our Chemic Engineers employees that we have successfully completed over 1,000,000 man without a lost time accident. I would like to thank each and every one of our employees for their efforts and I look forward to another year of safe delivery.”
