The responsibilities of an Intermediate Piping Designer are to assists with drafting and design-related work as assigned by the supervisor including field work, layout, transmittals, maintaining files, assembling packages and other duties as required. Provide assistance and training to junior designers and drafters.

Job Qualifications
Must have good computer skills with proficiency in major software, including Excel and Word.
Must have good communication skills (verbal and written).
Must have knowledge of engineering codes applicable to practicing discipline.
Must be proficient in using all major engineering technological tools applicable to practicing discipline, including AutoCad, Microstation and AutoPlant.
Must be able to comprehend engineering related specifications and reference manuals and apply to design applications.
Must have experience in executing field work and field survey related activities.
Must have current driver’s license, a car and proof of insurance.
Education/Experience
High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of two (2) CAD classes. College drafting degree preferred
Three (3) or more years CAD experience, preferably in petrochemical/chemical plants and refineries. Prefer some field work experience and field note taking.
Physical Demands
Approximately 70% office work and 30% work in the plants and field. Requires various amounts of walking, standing, climbing (at least one flight stairs), and talking. A good proportion of time is spent sitting at the computer. Vision must be correctable to normal.
