JOB SUMMARY:
Intermediate piping designers will be expected to perform drafting and design related work, both 2D and 3D, with a moderate amount of guidance from Sr. Designers and Project Engineers. They will also help train and provide guidance to Jr. Designers and Drafters.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Perform project related duties as assigned by the Piping Supervisor or Sr. Designers.
REQUIREMENTS:
EXPERIENCE: Three (3) or more years piping drafting/design experience, preferably in petrochemical/chemical plants and refineries. Prefer some field survey experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Approximately 80% office work and 20% work in operating process facilities and other remote field locations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders and stairs (at least one flight) and sit for extended periods of time at a computer. Fluently expressing and exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
